AFFILIATION WITH SAINIK SCHOOLS SOCIETY

 QUALIFYING REQUIREMENT


Introduction 

1. Cabinet has approved setting up of 100 new Sainik Schools in the country in partnership with NGOs/private schools and States in order to develop the ethos of national spirit, indomitable courage, unfailing commitment to values of respect for country and society, imbibe the importance of physical fitness and embody the nation pride in students’ souls while providing “Board Plus” type of educational environment.

2. The proposal aims to create an academically strong, culturally aware, intellectually adept, confident, highly skilled, multi-dimensional, patriotic self-reliant youth community with leadership qualities focused on providing utmost priority to the nation.  

3. A total of 100 Schools, which meets the QRs as enumerated below, will be shortlisted for affiliation with Sainik Schools Society (SSS).The affiliation scheme will be governed by a detailed affiliation guidelines termed as Affiliation Bye Laws.

4. Affiliation with Board of Education. Schools should be affiliated to any recognised Board of education which could be any Central/ State or an Equivalent Recognised Education Board.  

5. Medium of Education: Schools may impart education in any of the languages supported by the National Curriculum Framework. It is expected that these schools provide opportunity to the students to learn third language as drawn from any of the official languages prescribed under the schedule VIII of the constitution of India.

6. Requirement of Land & Infrastructure: The Schools seeking affiliation should have adequate land area and suitable academic and administrative buildings to include Classrooms, Library, Laboratories, Changing Room etc. Each Classroom should have space to accommodate 40 children in each class. School should have a Library and laboratories as required for the subjects offered in the school and as mandated by the Board of Education to which the school is affiliated.

7. Dining Hall. School should have a dining hall to cater to Breakfast, Lunch, Tea and Refreshments for staff and students within the campus.

8. Infirmary. School should have adequately equipped infirmary/first aid room with well trained staff to provide First Aid within the campus.
